Farrow and Ball linked with Happiness

I must admit that I have always loved nice things and with time, trust me it does not get better, it gets worse!
One of my friends had repainted some of his rooms and it looks extremely refined yet terribly subtle and understated.
He used the Farrow and Ball paint “London Stone” colour for neutralising and bringing a touch of warmth to his gallery. What a great pick, it really works, giving a very polished earthy look that you could easily find in a beautiful hotel reception room – cosy yet very chic!
For his dining room he has used the Farrow and Ball “Saxon Green” which I was totally blown away by. Saxon Green is a deep rich green with a touch of Bronze; it is a beautiful classic that will put some depth in a room but keeping it somehow extremely soft. It is incredible how it sets off the wood of the furniture and transforms the room into an intimate yet exquisite living space.

I personally adore their “Pavilion Grey” for a bedroom used with “Strong White” for a clean contrast, it would look simply exceptional with the Milk and Honey Sucre Glace Silver finish bedding that would very delicately pick up the two shades and bring them alive. A true Robert Doisneau enchanting snap! I truly believe that you get what you pay for, and quality over quantity is essential to my life. It brings so much enjoyment for so much longer and is one of many of my tips to happiness; it works for me so I thought it would be nice to share it.

The Milk and Honey Brand Concept #1

I come across all types of people during my working day, and one of the most popular questions is how did I come across the name, Milk and Honey?
You don’t have to be a theologian to know that the phrases origins are biblical. A quick flip to Exodus and you will see it’s first mention:
“And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey: unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
– Exodus 3: 8 (KJV)”
Now I know our bedding feels like Heaven, but how we found the name was a little more down to earth.
We always wanted to project a feeling of luxury, goodness and well being as well as supporting our beliefs in natural products so the brand needed to encapsulate all these things. I remember many evenings sitting down with my husband brainstorming words and phrases that summed up the products but we just ended up with everyday names that just didn’t suit us. We also didn’t just want a brand name that tied us to just one product.
Eventually we opted to take the words we loved and use a trusty thesaurus to look for alternatives. “A land flowing with Milk & Honey” was presented to us and we immediately knew we were along the right tracks! It just seemed to fit so well… our primary colours being white (milk) and cream (honey), 2 of the most natural products on earth and a little ‘buzz’ that would set us apart from the competition!
From that day, Milk and Honey was born. As we started developing the company and brand, we knew we had something special. It might have only been a name back then, but as the saying goes “From small acorns…”.
In Part 2 I’ll take a look into more depth at the brand development, and if you’re lucky I may show you some early examples of our logo..!

Lots of people have contacted us asking about the developers of our site, www.milk-and-honey.co.uk. I’d like to say we did it all ourselves (we wish!) but we have used a local development company called Sequence.

Sequence - Your Digital Agency

Sequence are based in Cardiff, and have a large portfolio including Torchwood and Dr Who. From day one they impressed us with their brand awareness, forseight and technical ability. They were key in transforming the Milk and Honey ethos into a functioning brand and of course website.

Addiction to Starbucks?

I have just surprised myself adding an application on my Facebook account, quite unusual for me who normally hates them…
I am slowly becoming eaten by it against the odds or I am simply a fan of Starbucks?
I think I already know the answer… I am totally addicted to the Starbucks skinny latte with a drop of Sugar-free Hazelnut syrup. Why? Because i am watching my figure but love enjoying life too so this is a perfect tasty compromise. I also love personally their philosophy, atmosphere and so clever marketing. They seem to hap you in their coffee shop and before you know it, you are transported somewhere else, to the Starbucks world, amazing!

Sexy bikini: The glamour accessory for this summer

Relaxing on a sun lounger in my garden last weekend, soaking up the sun and enjoying 2 hours of tranquillity whilst my baby daughter had her nap, was heaven! I was flicking threw a copy of the French Glamour magazine: special beauty edition with 40 pages of stunning trends featured fabulous tips for a gorgeous summery make-up, hair style, colours, skin etc however this “pin-up” style swimsuit from Guia la Bruna called “Enchanted baby” cached my eyes and I fell in love with it so I had to share this with you!

It is absolutely charming with its liberty prints and its refined details; it is transporting me to the land of warm white sand and the clear turquoise sea… A dream!

Sexy bikinis are back this summer. The Guia la Bruna swimwear range is feminine and fresh finished with a suggesting little bow in between the breasts and a sweet frill around the waist. This swimwear oozes of womanliness with an attention for detail that I love. Love it, love it, and love it! A must have accessory for the beach this season…
